Sunday Papers Live – The Cambridge Edition
Description
We loved the format of Sunday Papers Live, established by Ben De Vere from Secret Productions in London in 2013. It's a homage to the shared joys of Sunday and the Sunday Papers, and includes a day of walks, talks, performances, live music, brunch, roasts, dinners, Bloody Marys, family entertainment and relaxation. We knew Sunday Papers Live would be perfect for the Cambridge audience and once we'd agreed the Cambridge Union, with its fantastic debating Chamber as our location we were ready to go. Working on a smaller scale to the London event, we ran a series of talks and performances to represent the Sunday supplements, including performance poet John Osborne brilliantly funny take on sport, the engaging travel writer Sarah Woods on her travels in the jungle. We showcased some great local music talent, held yoga and illustration workshops, and ran a creative space for the kids. A Cambridge tour guide led a popular, historical walk through the town, and food came from local heroes Steak & Honour, The Architect doing the roast and Sweet Ally Scoops offering some local ice cream. We plan to do our second Sunday Papers Live in May.Info
